April Pettis is Managing Partner & the Senior Human Resources Consultant of Compatible Hire, a human resources outsourcing and consulting firm with a mission to assist small, medium, emerging businesses and businesses that prefer an outside view point with their human resources needs.
April has experience in various human resources leadership roles: Human Resources Manager, Manager of Training & Recruiting, Performance Improvement Manager, Employees Relations Manager and Corporate Staffing Manager. Throughout her 15+ years in human resources, she has championed leadership training, ethics guidelines, and workforce planning. Additionally she has implemented Drug Free Work Place “DFWP” environments, developed new policy and procedures and led numerous organizational change projects. April, a native Clevelander, earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications management from Baldwin Wallace College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She began her career in human resources when selected on a team to deliver region-wide product training to managers and employees with Ameritech. She went on to oversee and develop the processes of future product launches at Ameritech’s Corporate Offices in Hoffman Estates, IL. Family circumstances led her back to Cleveland to care for her mother, where she accepted a role as a Performance Improvement Manager with Ameritech. After leaving Ameritech / SBC, April took on roles that allowed her to develop in her profession by managing human resources teams (recruiters, trainers, HR Coordinators, vendor relationships/negotiations, and payroll to name a few), while she focused on the strategic human resources partnerships with various organizations. April is a DDI Certified Facilitator for leadership training programs and Targeted Selection Behavioral Interviews and a certified mediator since 2007. When not focused on Compatible Hire, April spends time with her family and participate in various non-profit organizations, working to develop programs or just lending a helping hand! |
